  • Sell my Bead Jewellery!

    Hello

It's been a while but I wondered whether anyone had any unique ideas on how to sell beaded jewellery?

I currently have 5 stockists in my local area, I have a blog to show off my items and am attending various Christmas crafts fairs, school fairs shortly. However,I wondered whether anyone had any ideas of how I could sell my items in other ways? (i.e. I have tried ebay but wasn't very successful - maybe there are some spe******t sites out there which spe******e in selling crafts that I won't know about?)

    Cheers, D

                  Sell my Bead Jewellery

I have been selling my beaded jewellery for about 6 months and find that doing parties works.

People are able to see your products, make suggestions of what they would like and you can even make bespoke items (ie. to match an outfit).

I find that craft fairs don't always work and there tends to be several people selling jewellery. Some of which is not hand made!!!

My main issue is trying to get traffic onto my website. Friends go on it. It is also a good tool for people to visit before coming to a party so they know what will be on sale and also the prices to expect to pay.

I make beaded jewellery and have been selling it on etsy since january with modest success. it is an american site but theres a strong UK presence and everyone is very helpful.

it is time comsuming though as the jewellery market is pretty saturated and it needs time spent promoting.

Thanks for all of your suggestions.

It's taken a while as I have been really busy with my full-time job but I am picking up the jewellery business again and have opened a Pink Doodle account which is excellent. The commission they take is very fair and ideal that they only take commission when an item has sold.

I have one test item on there at the moment so take a look and let me know what you think: the site is Pink Doodle and my shop is called Crafts by Diane (Craftsforum will not allow me to type the URL address as I would write it here - if you have problems then the address is also on my blog)

I've also discovered that you can put adverts in ebay now which is really cool so I've done that also and have discovered a way to to get free advertising in and around the local area.

I just need to figure out a way to make my jewellery business a full-time business now but suspect I may need to outlay quite a lot of money to do this - any suggestions from those who run a full-time jewellery business, gift shop etc would be really appreciated.

                      Cheers
