  • Hello. Another new one.

    Hi.
I was browsing tonight, usual work avoidance, and found this forum. So far I have only found forums in the USA, so this is a bonus.

I am a "mature" bench jeweller and a designer, living in Nottingham. I love working with metal and I also love combining it with fused glass cabochons, or enamel.

It's good to talk to others with the same interests as it can be a lonely occupation at the bench.

I look forward to getting to know you!

    Cheers from Ruth.

Hello Ruth and welcome to the forum,

I'm into Sterling Siver and make Chain-maille, Sculptured pendants, some silversmithing and some Cold connection work. I'm waiting for delivery of my new Microflame 60 torch so that I can get more involved with Russian Filigree which has me drooling at the mouth.

Up until now I've got by with the Homebase Butane torches which are handy but limiting.

Enameling is something I keep saying I'll get around to but haven't got there yet. Bought a Paragon Kiln a few years back for fused glass but I never really took to it, so I'm thinking of enameling so that I can make more use of the kiln. I could do Silver Clay work but I never got into that, it seems so expensive for what you get at the end.

There I go, rambling on again. Anyway it's nice to have you onboard.
I don't post much these days but I'm usually watching what's going on.

              Fran

Welcome Ruth from another fellow newbie!

I'm Si and I decorate wooden gifts under the name of Wood Tattoos using pyrography. I'm busy getting ready for my first craft fair this Saturday and have just had to organise public liability insurance! Crikey...

Time to saddle up and ride on out of town...
