Hi my name is Debbie, everyone calls me Debs
I have been self employed as a freelance illustrator/designer for the past 26 years. For the past year I have been illustrating and creating my own greeting cards to sell at local craft fairs. I love getting out of the house and meeting like minded people at the fairs and the buzz of someone choosing to buy one of my cards never grows old.
I have to confess I am addicted to crafting and have tried my hand most crafts from glass engraving to pottery but really enjoy painting, photography, illustration, handmade cards and jewellery making and cannot pass a craft shop without going in and spending money. (Who needs food?) LOL
Having experienced good and bad craft fairs in the past and with 25 fairs under my belt this year, my sister who is also experienced crafter and I decided to organise four craft fairs which will be taking place over the next couple of months.
Living in the parish of the National Trust village of Lacock, our village hall is an ideal setting for a craft fair and has become a regular venue for craft fairs over the last 20 years. We are both excited to be working both sides of the fence and hope to make it a great experience for everyone involved.
One of the reasons I joined this forum was it is nice to know there are like minded people (addicts) I can chat with online share ideas and share experiences.
But for now I’ll stop rambling on…
and go and check out the rest of the forum.
