im into makeing home made cards was wondering about the sizzix big shot machine if i buy it do i need to buy extra bacic accesories or what comes with it thanks for reading my message

Hi there and welcome to the forum.

There are starter deals to be had with big shot machines and these can contain a number of extras but if you buy just the machine itself it should come with the multiple purpose platform (MPP) and a pair of clear cutting plates. You will then need to buy dies to use in your machine.
If you want to use it for embossing you will need an embossing mat and at some stage you may need a crease mat too (this is for use with the dies that cut and score at the same time and prevents the die form cutting through the score lines as well as the cut lines)

Other than that its really a matter of getting some dies/embossing folders/plates and away you go...

are extended cutting plates you can buy for use with longer dies for borders but there are ways around that.

I would advise you to shop around for deals/packages...many include a couple of dies and embossing folders and some card...every little helps.

hi i have just bought sizzix big shot starter set and fing the enclosed solo plate and shim is not compatible with xcut nesting dies as recomended in mag.would i be right in thinking i need the multipurpose pack sold seperatly.hope you can help and thank you so much pat
