  • New to craft fairs!

    Hi everyone..

I am new to the forum, and new to Craft Fairs! I've just about got enough confidence to start taking my handmade jewellery/gifts to Craft Fairs and was wondering if anyone could give me some tips or let me know which fairs are good?

I'm based in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire so any in the surrounding areas, Yorkshire, Lancashire would be great. I'd like to know if there are any popular ones that are recomended? I'm going to be selling quirky jewellery (cheese burger necklaces, pac man charm bracelets, ducky earrings etc), Greetings cards, magnets, keyrings etc. All a little bit quirky, and unique.

Any pointers? I'm looking for Craft or Country Fairs, markets..

Welcome LahLah, hope you find this forum will help you with your quest to be a successful crafter.

Although I am not from your area, you should look at and search by the counties that are closest to you. This will show you what shows are close to you and give contact details to book a stand.

This list is not complete, but keep an eye out for local school fetes, village fetes, farmers markets, charity craft fairs, open days, etc. These sometimes only have a poster for an event, but could turn out to be very useful sales points.

There are some good bits of advice on display and presentation at the web pages for Kent Farmers Markets and watch the video at

Best of luck in your venture.

Hi Lahlah welcome to the forum. have you tried Holmefirth farmers market? there are also several places in Sheffield, cant remember her name but a memeber on here has a advert out for a fair there, have a trawl through the threads in UK craft fairs section and see if you can find it.

        there is also this one.

          Thanks for that link Caroline
Been contemplating craft fairs, but didn't know where to start so this will be a good read! Can't seem to find many in the midlands though...

Stall finder is good but mostly I think it's a case of doing your first show and then talking to other crafters there. Most folk are very happy to network about which shows they are doing or which ones you might apply for.
I often tell other crafters to just checkout the diary on my website for ideas for local events!
i'm sure you will soon gain confidence and enjoy your craft shows.
              Happy Crafting!
