  • Jewellery making courses?

I am recently back from travelling in India and Bali and have developed a really keen interest in making jewellery. Does anyone know any reputable courses not too far from Essex? I love the idea of making and selling my own stuff but need to try to learn to make it first! Would be interested in working with silver, beads, stones, leather, making friendship bracelets etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

India and Bali? Nope not jealous at all.....much!

There's Spoilt Rotten Beads in Haddenham (between Cambridge and Ely) but that might be a bit of a trek from Braintree. I'm pretty sure there are a few places in Colchester that do workshops and in the back of my mind I think there is (or was) somewhere around Coggleshall - I'll have a quick look and be back in a minute to post a few links.

    • #3 looks like they've got loads of different one day courses so could be worth a trip up the M11 for one.

I also found these in/near Colchester

The place I was thinking about in Coggleshall appears to be online only and don't run classes - sorry.

        Hi Lucy,

I run classes in fabric jewellery making and have a class in brentwood on the 17th and 28th May (see my website - I am not allowed to post links yet)!

They are held at brentwood bead shop who also run jewellery classes and they can be found on a well known social networking site if you want to see what classes they are running.

        Many thanks
