  • It's a daunting task !!!

Hello everyone... I used to make Tiaras and at christmas I made wreaths decorated with wooden toys and anything else....I loved doing it but now do not have the time as .......
I have volunteered for the very daunting task of organising the Stowmarket Carnival craft Marquee . We have had a carnival in our town every year for now 50 years....and each year the craft turnout has diminished somewhat from when I was a child ( A few years ago now ! ) So I thought I would support it and make a difference if I could ......but boy it's hard. Knowing where to get in contact with small crafters hit a hurdle , then I stumbled across this site. I hope people will see this and be interested as we have over 10,000 people pass through our gates over the 2 day period. So please please please if you would like to help our carnival going let me know.....
    In hope ......Claire

    Hi Claire and welcome.

Have you tried posting this in the UK craft fairs section?

To get in touch with crafters, it may well be worth also getting on Twitter and starting to follow people who craft. Maybe concentrate on those who are local?

If you pop a postcode into your request, it'd be a great help to those who don't know your area well - they can check distances online to see if it's within travelling distance.

(PS - sorry if I'm nit-picking but I found the italics/bold combination difficult to read. That may be just me, I should wear my glasses!)

          Hi,

I would be interested in this. Have you confirmed dates and is it necessary to do both days or can I only opt for one if the dates clash with other commitments?

          Thanks,

              Hi Claire,
If you list your event on stallfinder.co.uk I am sure you will get plenty of enquiries (added bonus is that listing is free!). Very good luck with your fair, a little too far for me I'm afraid but I look forward to reading all about it on here.

Thank you for the tip about stallfinder....I went straight there and listed it. It's great that it free. We as a Commitee hold lots of events throughout the year to raise money to put on the Carnival and many will be able to be advertised in this way ....Thanks again ....x

Hi Claire, have you sussed that you can do a vice versa thing on Stallfinder? Wannabe stall holders are listed on there. Organisers can pull out their local ones and contact them direct. Works a treat on ditsy ones like me who forget to look for what's going on
