  • Hi - I'm a newbie here

Hi there, just bouncing in to say hello and introduce myself to everyone. I'm Dee from Plymouth and I love all kinds of crafts particularly scrapbooking and cardmaking but I've joined this particular site because I'd be very interested in finding a (second, part-time) job to bring in a little extra income. If that part-time job could be something crafty that would be heaven. If anyone has any ideas of things that might work for me then please please let me know - I'd more than welcome your suggestions. Thank you.
    Dee

Hello - Welcome. I'm quite new here too!

I'm unable to think of anything off the top of my head regarding a part-time crafting job. I guess it depends do you want to do it for the craft side or the money side.

If it's the craft side, have you considered starting your own crop? (No money in it though).

Alternatively have you considered offering your scrapping services to make scrap books for non-crafty people who would like a keepsake memory book?

Hi Dee and welcome from me.

Most crafts related jobs will end up being full time with little income. I find selling my cards in work helps me fund my hobby but thats as far as it goes. Selling the supplies on my website isn't a great earner as it's still in it's first year and theres lots of competition out there.

You could always try and join a design team (most companies are on the look out for new tallent, i'm not sure if they pay you though or just give you loads of crafts stuff to play and design with), or submit some of your work to magazines to see if they'll publish some, if nothing else it will help you get a good rep and get your name out there.

Hope you find what your looking for

              Hi welcome to the forum.

Good luck with your search for a craft related job. I think this would be a dream to lots of people on here. One way to make a little extra money from your craft could be to set up a blog, and put google ads on it. It wont make you a millionaire and it will take time to build up. A blog is a good way of getting you work out there for others to see. Blogger is really easy to use too.

I'm afraid I can't really offer you much advice about a part time job in crafting as my job is more than full time..it's all the time!! Ahhh the joys of working for yourself I suppose!
                Enjoy your time here.
