  • Handmade cards

Hi, I'm Helen and I made hand made greetings cards. I was introduced to this craft by a lovely American lady when I emigrated to the USA. Ten yeaars down the line I am now back home and making even more cards than ever. She has a lot to answer for!
I sell at local craft fairs and would like to expand my sales horizons - any ideas?

Hi and welcome to the forum from another card maker. Just a warning - this forum can be as if not more addictive than making cards. As for selling, have you approached any local shops? sometimes they can be interested but obviously you get wholesale prices for them. Or here's a few more ideas:

    Local market
    Car boot
    Website
    Ebay
Approach local firms before christmas as most send out christmas cards to their clients.
Independent baby shops sometimes like to sell baby cards
    craft fairs

Sorry i can't think of anymore but i hope that helps.

Look forward to getting to know you

Hi, I am a card maker as well, just started a few weeks ago and currently in the process of making a website. I will not be getting a profit from the price I am asking for but if I can make a little back to buy new stock I will be happy.

                      I love your work

                              Welcome to the site.
                              I am new myself.

I think a local Market is a good idea, but you may find it difficult to cover the costs of the stall - which is what we have experienced. If your doing it during the summer, then maybe try getting an outdoor stall. We were offered one for £10 which is much better than the £25-£30 we were paying for an indoor one.

Good luck with it all though.
