Hi my name is Fiona(otherwise known as Nonnie) and I've just joined the Forum yesterday after hearing about it through doing my first Craft Fair organised by Julie of Apple Tree Crafts.
I'm an Interior Designer as my 'day job' but am trying to develop my own range of hand made home accessories. I make cushions, table linen, bags, aprons, decorated coat hangers and collages to name but a few things. Sewing is my main craft but I also knit(very slowly!) and paint.
I started writing a blog last year and through that have met a huge amount of talented crafts people all around the World as well as in the UK. Through this I have been encouraged to try to turn very much a hobby into more of a business. I've been selling my items through the website of another blogger for about 6 months and have a temporary webshop of my own linked to my blog but hope to have a proper website soon. I decided it was time to start craft fairs as well so signed up to Apple Tree's Fair at Stow-on-the-Wold on Saturday. Despite the fact it wasn't as busy as we all hoped I really enjoyed the day and did sell some things although I have to admit my very best customer was my Mum! It hasn't put me off and I hope to do more fairs throughout the year. I'd like to do some more with Julie although some that she's organising are a little bit too far away for me. I'd love advise from anyone on how to find out about other fairs.
I'm really looking forward to chatting with you all.
