  • Nice to 'meet' you! (BTW, Lou-Lou is a cat...!)

I live in a tiny little village in Wiltshire, which I've been told sounds like something out of a Miss Marple story!

I've been making and selling jewellery for about five years now, was absolutely terrible to begin with but hopefully, hopefully, I've improved (?!)... I mainly use wirewrapping techniques and adore using copper. Oh and stainless steel wire. I have my own website (& secure online shop) and also do local fairs & parties. Recently, after an idle thought, I put an advert in our parish magazine, saying that I did repairs/alterations to costume jewellery. I've had a very good response to this; lots of people have really nice bits of sparklies tucked away that they can't wear but can't bear to part with. Often they've had a truly ridiculous quote from a 'Proper Jeweller' for replacing a few cheap jumprings; daft really, who can afford to turn away business these days? So, I suggest ingenious ways that pieces can be 'recycled' and given a new lease of life. It keeps the grey cells ticking over and as they come to my home to drop pieces off, they end up browsing my jewellery.... I'm suggesting this to anyone reading thus far as a nice PR exercise; if you make jewellery, you have pretty much all the spares on hand to do repairs. It doesn't take long and you'll meet some very lovely new friends, too.

Apologies for length; this is turning into a novel. I'll cut to the chase! I sew, I've made curtains and blinds, I've had a permanent market stall selling cat themed giftware, I've worked as a Showhouse Designer, I've run my own plant nursery and worked as garden designer and just in the last few weeks, I've had hours of fun experimenting with M&P glycerin soap and also soy wax candles. I have two cats and a husband (note the order there.....!!)....

Jack of all trades, me, probably! I'll have a go at most things. You can tell I'm a Gemini!!!! Oh and my real name is Cheryl, I'm 45 and would love to be a 'natural' at sales!! And I'm very fond of decent sparkling wine...!

That's all folks! See you soon (when I dare post any replies!)

Hi Cheryl! I'm new here too.

It's nice to hear that you sell your crafts as well, that's something that I'm looking to do (I make cards). Would be interested in seeing your website.

Look forward to 'speaking' with you in the forum.

Top priority - although the husband was on the scene first.

Welcome Cheryl! I love love love your jewellery especially the commisioned 'Pisces' bracelet (because I'm a Pisces) and the copper bangle. Is copper that's meant to be beneficial for achey bones?
