Oh wow! Here's me thinking I knew everything, and I knew nothing about the bauxite problem. We always hear about the rainforest and deforestation to transport lumber cross country, but a whole country at the mercy of aluminium manufacture? Doesn't bear thinking about! I loved the bit at the bottom about the leatherback - I watched the programme when they tagged her, makes us humans quite insignificant in the grand scale of things doesn't it? I'll put the link on, it may surprise a lot of people!

Wow the pictures os suriname are amasing full of natural beauty and wonder. How awful then that huge companies are seeking to rob the natural reserves. I actually cried reading the article. Funny how everyone thinks using aluminium is good for the environment cause of recycling but if they only new what as happening.....
