    Hi All,

I am a total new comer in the forum world. Never, ever, ever used one before but I heard this one was great so thought I would give it a bash.

On reading through some of the threads everybody out there seems really friendly and helpful.

I make hand crafted candles in sunny Scotland

    All the best.

          Thanks Vikki,

It is good to feel you are not alone. When you are busy making your craft you seem cut off from the world!

            I know what you mean!

Do you sell at craft fairs and such?

Have you ever thought of doing demonstrations with community groups?

            Just a thought!

                Hi,

I do craft fairs and the like. I have thought of doing community demonstrations. I had someone approach me and I said I would be delighted to do them but they never got back in touch.

If you wanted to get involved with community groups, check with your local council and ask them for a list of residents associations. These groups are usually wanting interesting demonstrations but don't know where to start. They don't usually mind you setting up a little dispaly either where people can view your products and buy or take away more info.....

I'm one of those group leaders and finding things to keep the community involved is a nightmare!

I will get in touch with the Council. I know what it is like trying to organise anything. Generally a total nightmare.

                      Many thanks.

                              Hi Lisa!

I spent my teenage years in Glasgow - well a few miles north. And lived in Aberdeenshire from 1994 to 2001 and didn't ever come across a craft fair!

It's not that much of a headache to set one up, I'm in the process of organising two. If you want any help just shout, or PM me, I'll be glad to help.

I've found that once people realise what you are trying to do, they will fall over themselves to help. I have had phone calls and emails begging me to set up craft fairs in different areas here in South West.

Just a thought....you could try seeing if you could shove an ad for crafters up in Glasgow College of Art? Bound to be loads of original crafter's there.....it might even be a venue!
