  • Newbie - 1st question!

    Hi everyone

This is my 1st visit to this site and I'm looking forward to visiting on a regular basis.

My 1st question and one that keeps getting differing answers is:
What is the best way to drill holes through tumblestones, gemstones -quartz and others types etc?

I've been trying to find out for a while which is the best and most efficient way of doing this. I visited a local mineral outlet recently and the guy there advised against anything electrical because of the speed of the drill and to use a manual pillar drill, one for craft work, the problem is where do I find one?

I see from some of the postings that electrical ones are mentioned but so far I haven't seen any reference to manual ones. Any ideas anyone?

    Thanks in anticipation!

              Hiya,

Well its seems this is a bit of a stumper! Nevermind though I'll trawl t'internet and see if i can find anything.
I put this in the jewellery section too & was pointed to a hobby drill, if all else fails I might give that another go. Many thanks anyway.
              Bye-ee & thanks
