  • Hi from Kernow

Hi there,my name is Pete & I am down in sunny Cornwall where I turn wood. My wife is into all sorts of fabric crafts ranging from rag rugs to wall hangings as well as more basic knitting and sewing. Neither of us do it prioffessionally though I have got some pieces out in galleries and shops just to cover costs. I am thinking of going in for wooden jewellery perhaps incorporating other materials as well and hopefully getting some out for the holiday season which is the main 'selling time' down here.

Always glad to another woodturner... I buy from lots of you!

Whereabouts in Cornwall do you live? I go down there on holiday a lot, it's a lovely county.

      All the best,

      Si.

Pete, nice to see you here. My eldest son enjoys woodcrafts too - occasionally exhibits turning on willow, (I think thats what it is called).

Thanks for the welcome. I am in a small hamlet (can't see the neighbours except at night about 3 miles outside Truro so pretty central. Born on the Lizard, emigrated up country like so many and finally managed to get back home after being made redundant. Hoping to get a part time job and 'top up' with craft work in galleries, shops etc. so any advice regarding this down here is welcome. I have been accepted by the Made In Cornwall scheme which is a start

                    Hi and welcome.

I'd love to see some of your work - I've got my first lathe on it's way as we speak and I can't wait to get into it. I've got piles of sapele, elm burr and beech all ready to be turned into shavings!
