  • Newbie wanting some advice

    Hi All

I'm new to this site and fairly new to beading/jewellery making.

I am wanting to start selling my creations but don't know were to begin or how much mark up to put on them.

I live in St Helens, Merseyside. does anyone know about any craft fairs near by?

Any advice would be welcomed greatly.

    Cheers
    Nicky

There is a great link in a reply to one of these newbie posts for stall finder, that might help.. sorry us newbies can't post links but you should be able to find it in one of the top threads.

Hi there and a very warm welcome from one newbie to another!

Have you thought about starting off selling them on places like eBay and there is another one that I think is called etsy (just do a google search for it) which is specificaly for buying and selling handmade items. I have purchased some lovely items from here and you could also have a look to see if anyone is making things like you and what they are charging for them.

Another one is Misi - buying and selling handmade items in the UK which I have only just come across so I can't tell you much about it.

This would give you the chance to see whether the items you are making are of interest to the craft buyers without you having to make a huge outlay that might eat into your profits for little return.

                  Good luck anyway!

                  Karen
