Newbie needs ur help!
Hi there, can anyone help me? I am keen to start working with silver clay but I am not to sure what to buy. I dont know if buying a kit is the best way or buying individual pieces is better. I want to make little fingerprint items to start with and pendants. So if you have any advice please help.... Thanx

Hello there, andfrom us too !
I know there have been quite a few threas on this subject here on the Forum - try hunting for them to see what other people think.
Have you thought about doing a course? Don't know where you live, but there is a course in Edinburgh which specifically covers fingerprint jewellery (The Little Bead Shop runs it.)
Sorry we can't be more help, but enjoy the Forum anyway

Hello there!!
I have found the best thing to do when starting a new craft is to buy a starter kit-it should have all the basics you will need and then you can build it up by buying extra's once you have the hang of it

Welcome
I bought a starter kit and a couple of books and leant from there. I did have a few mistakes so it would be a good idea to work with air drying clay to start with, to make designs etc as silverclay is an expensive material if you ruin it.
I've had a few mistakes where the clay has become molten and then you can't really do anything with it.
Try looking at Polymer Claypit and PMC Studio for supplies and free information.
Where are you based - there may be a course near you.Take care
