  • Hello, newbie here.

    Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum, but not new to forums. I am looking forward to making new friends and getting tips and advice on all areas of crafting.

I love all aspects of Arts & Crafts. My mum is a Wildlife Artist and all round crafter and her Dad was an artist and sign writer so it's in my genes.

I went to art college for 3 years where I got into ceramics and jewellery making, and got a couple of degrees. I followed my mum into wildlife art and did a bit of other painting. I did go into it all as a business to make money and intended to do craft-fairing but never got that far. Love, Marriage, Kids, No Time!

Since having my kids (number 3 on the way very, very soon) I have packed the paints away and just spend time crafting with my daughter. We make greetings cards and gifts for the family.

We dabble in a bit of jewellery making and beading, we are just learning to crochet and knit. And since starting our self sufficientish/green life we are getting more and more into making stuff.

    Happy Cratfting

          Thanks for the welcome

Hi all and thankyou for the welcome.

In answer to Moonbeam Angel, he is due on Feb 1st, Which for me would be lovely as it is the Celtic festival of Imbolc a special day in my calendar. My daughter missed that day by just 2 days early.

The midwife said yesterday that things are looking like he could be here as early as the next 2 weeks. I hope not because I have woke up this morning with a stinking cold and want to be well over it before he comes!

to you and your 'bump'. Do notify us of its arrival, we're a bit baby soft on here as well as animal soft. How old is your daughter who crafts with you? Its great you are already getting her into it.

                      Thanks for the welcome

Thanks again for your warm welcomes,
I am just about to embark on what I consider to be my first real project. I am making a baby sling. They are really good but very expensive to buy yet really easy to make (well they look it from the pattern anyway)

I've only got a couple of weeks left to get it done so wish me luck. I'll let you know how it goes.

I too have a son with an autistic spectrum disorder and I know how difficult and tiring this can be.Try and get as much help as possible from friends and famliy as a new addition can also be tiring especially alongside your son with his difficulties.
Do let us know of new babes of arrival ,look forward to chatting to you.
                          Take care
