  • Hi Everyone! I'm New Here!

    Hi everyone,

My name is Alison, I am 13 years old and I really love Crafting! My favourite crafts that I love doing are Card Making and Scrapbooking. I have a neurological, chronic pain condition in my left leg and right arm which means I am unable to go to School that much so I find crafting really relaxing and it often helps me when I am bored!

I used to make cards with my grandad but he passed away unfortunately 2 weeks ago. We are all very upset but I really want to keep crafts in the family as I know my grandad would want me to.

At the moment, I am busy making Christmas cards for my friends and family. I often make cards also to sell to charity - I love doing it and it makes me feel good knowing that I have helped someone even if it is just in a small way.

I am so glad that I have found this forum and can't wait to share ideas, hints and tips with you all! You all sound very nice and friendly.

Thank you all so much for the warm welcome - I really appreciate it and am loving this place already! You are all great and it's so nice to have someone to talk to who I can share ideas, hints and tips with!

Peter - Thank you for looking up RSD, that was so sweet of you ((hugs)). It's always nice when people show an interest in what is wrong with me and so little is known about the illness so every person that knows is helping spread the word out there! You are right, RSD DOES suck!! It is the worst pain known according to the McGill Pain Scale. I have to go to hospital every week for various treatments and Physiotherapy so it is so nice when I am able to make some cards and/or scrapbooks as it takes my mind off things somewhat.

Thanks again for your kind words and the lovely welcome - you are all great!

          Alison

                    Hi Alison
to the forum, I hope you find lots of inspiration and company here.
crafting really is the most wonderful therapy, I escape into mine at every opportunity living in a crazy stressed out houseful, and it really does keep me sane!
I am so sorry to hear of your loss, I really first discovered my passion for creating special things when my son died in 1996 so although you will be feeling really sad now, knowing that you are carrying on his legacy of crafting must surely bring you some comfort and in time (if not already by the sound of it!)it will make you very proud to have been blessed with his creative gene. My gran passed hers down to me so I can see where you are coming from with that one.
Look forward to seeing some of your creations when you are ready xx
                    I craft, therefore I am!
