  • Hello from Angie

    Hi everyone

I'm a knitting and crochet enthusiast (with a little bit of cross stitch thrown in).

Nice to meet such a friendly group.

I was wondering if you could help us with any pricing ideas? How do you work out prices for items etc. I have been to a lot of craft fairs and prices for similar articles do seem to differ widely. Would appreciate any ideas, I know I would like a decent return for time spent on my work, but also would like to sell items on the day. Is there a magic formula?

    All ideas appreciated.

    Many thanks
    Angie

Hello and welcome to the forum

Now pricing this is a mine field, the simplest is take the cost of the materials plus the time spent x the hourly rate you want to pay yourself and then see if this is feasible for selling. I tend to work on this and adjust up or down if I think the product can stand it and would someone pay X for this item.
You can post your price ideas on here and we will tell you if you have got it near enough right. You can also ask family and friends. Believe me pricing is not easy.

                Pricing

                Hi Caroline

Many thanks for your help. The stuff I do, I mainly do for fundraising stalls and charity stalls but I do want to ensure that they raise all the money they can. Will have a good ask round friends and family, maybe have an Tea/Coffee evening where a few us can get together and chat about it.

                Thanks again
                Angie
