  • Heylo from Long Eaton, Notts/Derby Border!

    Hi All

I am new here (as you might have gathered)

My newest hobby is one that my aunt took up and gave me a few bits to have a craft around with and it took off from there!

I make Cards. I sell quite a few! It rather surprised me when they started selling and it made my hubby happy that i was bringing in some of the money i had spent...

i just about to launch a website for cards and crafts for myself and a couple of friends to sellt hrough.

I also (having read a few posts here) would like to look into putting ona craft fair locally. With a little twist... I am a music promoter by proffesion and was wondering if anyone thought i was a good idea to put on some live acoustic music during the days of the fair?

Anyway, ive made myself sound like a complete dork...

I only wanted to say hey

    So HEY!!

    xx
If i can Hear it... Its Music
If i can See it?... Its Art
If i taste it? well it probably has no nutritional value...

Nice to see you here. Yes, why not. I went to a craft fair at Glastonbury Town Hall a few years ago and they had live music. In fact, the musicians were walking about the fair. It was fun.

      Welcome

Hello and welcome to the forum.

I think music is a good idea. You often attend craft fairs and the atmosphere is quite dead, you definitely need background music. If you have life musicians, it adds so much atmosphere. As long as its not a rock band (hey I love ACDC but not quite the right kind of band!).

People will certainly remember the fair.

If you need advice about organising craft fairs - you'll find it here.

      Good luck
      Take care

        Hello and welcome

I'm local and would be interested in a craft fair - keep us posted with any dates/venues.

I also think live music would be great - would give a much better atmosphere than piped "lift musak". What sort of music do you promote? A good jazz band playing in the background would be good.

Oooh what a great idea - live music would be fantastic! I could happily sell to a bit of Guns'n'Roses!

Actually any kind of live music would be cool -went to the Northampton Balloon Festival a few weeks ago. It was brilliant to have the music in the background and a big incentive to hang around and shop for a bit longer!

Welcome to the forum by the way

Welcome to the forum, it does seem very freindly compared to other forums I have tried.

I'm local aswell and would be interested in a craft fair and I love music so that would be great too.
