Hi ! As my handle suggests, I'm a self-employed brickmaker - the very last itinerant brickmaker in the UK. I hope I can be of some help on this forum with advice, etc. also I'm always on the lookout for new ideas in all sorts of crafts.
Hi. I don't know much about bricks as I'm a jewellery maker but we all need 'em! All sorts of crafts are represented here but I'm guessing you may not find any others in your line of work so you can educate us all.
Why thank you! I don't just make bricks. I also make encaustic and geometric tiles and roofing tiles and decorative (mathematical) tiles...well the list is pretty long there. I also make clay tobacco pipes and earthenware pottery.
As an aside I also do craft printing by letterpress and die-sublimation.
Thanks - I've also made clay beads in the past. Great fun. Haven't got the moulds anymore. I think I might make some new moulds now. It's certainly refired my enthusiasm!
Hello there! I am new too and also found this group by accident! It all sounds very exciting the brick making and other exotic items. I feel very ordinary now with my jewellery making and sewing hehe!
to the forum you certainly have a diverse range of crafting skills. Please be sure to show us some of your work as soon as you've reached the 25 post mark.
I'm a glass artist but was just reading out loud what you do to my husband (who's a chippy) and he seemed gobsmacked.
You have a real variety and good traditional skills.
As stated previously, you'll be quite lonesome in terms of other people with the same skills, but you will find the forum friendly and it's good to have a chit chat.
