    Hi crafty people

    I need some help, I want to start a jewellery business, but how long before I take my first payment?
    I mean when can I start taking a wage from what I make,
    I want to make ocassional jewellery for men & women necklaces,bracelets,

        I'm afraid we would need a little more detail than that to answer your question... it is a little like asking "how long is a piece of string?" - you can't put an estimate on when you will make your first sale as a craftsperson.

            Like Wood Tattoos I would have to say that is a bit like "how long is a piece of string". What eactly are you making and where are you planning to sell?

                  to the forum.

                  It will depend on when you are planning on starting to sell your items for a start and how (www, craft fairs, shops, markets etc) and also whether you get your target customers to see your stock or not. Obviously you need to have the stock first, so it will also be a bit dependant on how quickly you make your products.

                    You will know when you can afford to pay yourself a wage, i.e. when you are making enough to cover your overheads. Whats left, in theory, is yours and the Tax Mans.
