  • Hi I'm new

    Hi Everyone,

I'm new here. I'll probably stumble around to start with until I find my feet but I;d like to hope I can offer advice etc

I am a mum to my 2 gorgeous, albeit occasionally mischievious children aged nearly 5 and nearly 3. I gave up work as a solicitor after no2 came along as childcare ate up my whole salary and I preferred to be the one bringing my children up anyway.

I enjoy lots of different crafts but my most recent interest if pyrography. I was looking for ideas for my husband to buy me for christmas last year and i saw a pyrography iron. Well, it looked so good I bought it myself before christmas. i made some christmas decorations for my children and a friend mentioned I should sell them! So idid!

In january I decided I'd make a go of it and I have registered as self-employed and am busy designing lots more items!

I'm quite new to forums so I'm sorry it all the above is too long, I'll get the hang of it all quite quickly hopefully.

I'm off to explore the threads and hope i can help anyone out at any time, or even just provide a friendly ear

Welcome to the forum Fiona. There are loads of us on here who work from home whilst bringing up the little peeps so I'm sure your'll find lots of advice and support. Sometimes it's nice just to log on and have a moan or share some good news in the "non crafts" section as well as chat about our crafts in the other sections! Enjoy the forum.

to the Forum and, in particular, to the ever-expanding group of pyrographers here. There's me, Scorch, LarryM and others whose names escape me at present (apologies to one and all!) I hope you enjoy your time here.

Let's start with a technical question then... what machine do you use? I'm a Peter Child user!

                          Hi,
thank you so much for all the welcomes, I'm really so chuffed people have taken the time to do that!

Thanks woodtattoos. I use the basic entry level tool - pyro master. I'd really like to get the peter child's or the pirana professional!

Looking at your items and others mine are so basic! I do really enjoy it though
