        Hi,
these designs are stunning and not a million miles away from my "style" (I too run a wedding stationery company) as I do a lot of layering as well. I have been to numerous wedding fayres and can tell you that most brides want something that is more simple and elegant albeit in contemporary colours than embellished to within in inch of its life! Just because you can add it to the design doesn't mean you should. They really don't want a lot of "frou-frou" on their stationery. And remember there's a big difference between hand-made and home-made! They can appreciate quality work that is done well rather than just sticking any old embellishment on.

You should definitely go ahead and develop more ranges for your site.

PM me if you want any more specific info about setting up in wedding stationery

I think they are lovely but then again I may be biased as they are similar to my style too - I've always subscribed to the 'more-is-less' school of thought when it comes to designing cards. Plus if you make it too fussy you'll be pulling your hair out by the time you've finished 150 invites, place cards and thank you cards

Good luck with the wedding stationery - doubt you'll need it though

Hi I think this is the best thread..I'm sure there a re going to be a few questions over the next couple of days, I just had my first big wedding stationery order placed! It was based on my lovely mummy in law telling a friend who has ordered without seeing any of my work! And she wants them asap! I have 60 to do, I know the design I'm going to use based on the information thats been given, but what I really want to know right this second is..
How do you promote your business within the stationery order?
I have some stunning clear labels with gold print - very classy but subtle, which I am going to put on the back of the invites, but where do you go from there? Should I put them on place cards, orders of service, menus etc or just leave it at the invitation bit?
                      Help!
                      I craft, therefore I am!

As regards the labels, I add them to invitations and most of my other items to be honest (discreetly though!). I also have business cards and postcards printed and these are also sent with every order too, as many of my customers pass them onto their friends. I use vistaprint and have magnet calenders printed, which I send to customers, they stick on their fridge, and so look at me all year long!

Some people don't go as far as me, they are quite content to only send a letter or something, so it is entirely up to you.

                            thank you :-)
I have already done the worst bit (hand embossing all the hearts!) I just have the chalk detail and the inserts to print and stick in..
Have decided with the order to try and generate as much business out of it as possible by putting in menu, place card and thank you samples in the same style, as all I know of it at the moment is that she is worrying how she's going to find everything - in steps lil old me hehe
thanks for the advice I will have a think about the magnet calendar idea
