  • Seeded paper favours - help with words please?

    Hello,
I am trying to make most of the decorations and fancy bits for my wedding. My mum wants to help with the wedding favours.

My idea was to get some of that seeded paper (the stuff that you plant and it grows into a flower) and put a heart shape in little envelopes.

I want it to be so that everyone has something lasting to remember the wedding by rather than a favour that gets shoved in a drawer and no-one can remember whose wedding it came from!

Anyway, I need some help with what else to put in it please. I want to write a little note saying what to do with the seeded paper and also something about how its from us to them as a memory.

As you can see I'm not phrasing this very well, so I wondered if anyone had any ideas?

Cheers - hope some of you word-smiths can help!

Is this the kind of thing you're looking for?...
Please sow this heart and watch it grow, in the knowledge that it brings heartfelt thanks, to you, for taking part in our special day.

A lovely sentiment, but could I just point out that sew = use needle and thread. For this particular purpose it should be spelled sow - ie plant in soil to grow the flower/shrub/tree/whatever.

Sorry Jayne, but it looked so odd to me I just had to mention it.

That's brilliant, exactly the kind of thing I meant.
Thank you, I will probably use that.

could you write the instructions on some paper (normal paper!) and maybe put one of those plant marker things (dont know what they are called!) and put your names and the day of the wedding on it, so when the plant grows, there will be a a sign by the plant for everyone to see.

          Hope that made sense!
I like to make things - usually a mess!
Please look at my stuff and let me know what you think!

            A small offering:-

Mary and John thank you all,
For your love on this wonderful day.
Please take this heart and nurture it,
            In your caring, special way.
When it shoots and grows and blooms
            As life itself will do.
We'll remember this, our wedding day,
That we have shared with you.
