  • When to release Xmas 09 products??

Hello, Just a quick question (and yes I know it's early) but when are you releasing your Christmas items onto your web sites?? and when will final orders be?

I know its a bit of an odd question but I am just trying to plan ahead and i have a fair few bits, cards etc to put on but am not sure when is 'too early' or is there such a thing??

    Thanks Caron x

Whilst I tend to make Christmas products in July (don't ask me why) they will be posted to my site about mid September with the last order date approx 10th December. This allows for enough time for delivery even though they go first class signed for.

This is difficult as I personally start early with cards and gifts etc but I know other people do not want to even think about Christmas until Dec, perhaps because we have to make everything you cannot leave until the last minute.

Personally, I would say that as soon as it's ready then add it to your site... I am hoping to start my Christmas shopping early this year so would like to think there will be plenty of choice when I can get organised.

As soon as I have a decent amount of Christmas cards, etc made then I'll be starting to add them to my site.

As Laura said as crafters perhaps we start earlier than most and should have gifts etc up sooner rather than later, certainly given me something to think about that I am not the only one to buy early. Perhaps a thread with the xmas release date would be an idea. Then we can buy our goodies before the main rush.

See i have currently listed 3 things but just didnt want to seem too eager by having them there?? I am trying to be more prepared than last year (i was VERY unready) so wanted to get a head start..

Its interesting though isnt it, just trying to decide when..

It would be a good idea to have things available in time for customers to get them before the earliest last posting dates to other countries... Some of which seem to be very early! (As I recall, the end of October for some suface mail?)

Xmas will be here before we know it. I tend to go by QVC. They start their Xmas count down in July. I think they have Xmas in July show on the 25th July and have one every month unitll they get closer to Xmas. ( Then it is a full blown attack on the consumer)

I have started some Christmas crafty preparations now and working on some new ideas... I want to get a few more 'Christmas' things made before I add them to my site, but you are so right... this year is passing so quickly that it will be Christmas Day before we know it: we seem to say that every year!!! lol

Hi I keep my xmas items on the web site all year round, but only push them from September until the end of the year, and only show them at craft fairs from September onwards.

                        cheers

I am working on Christmas cards at present and will add them when I have a decent number done. I always get my folder done for local people by end of August. As to last order date that is really down to what you produce, what stock you keep and your own timetable, no one can legislate for that, but obviously if you are making cards people like to have them ready for posting at appropriate dates. More important is to say how long an order might take to produce, then people don't expect it necessarily by return if it is not a stock item.

I've already started listing Christmas cards for sale, and Artfire where I sell is having a Christmas in July promotion.

My calendars are pre-ordered & are now being produced.

Christmas comes but once a year, but I'll damn well make the most of it
