We are all very self critical we are our own worst enemy. Just concentrate on doing your own thing and ignore the rest.

Just you being silly....stop looking and comparing....your work is all that. Think positive JB, think positive.

I spend way too much time looking at other people's jewellery and getting depressed but then remind myself that I've only been making it for less than a year and I did sell over 100 items just before Christmas over 3 local fairs and got good feedback so it's not all bad I guess...

It's the perfectionist in you definitely. Everyone has different styles and ways they do things. Every customer is unique, so what one person knits may not be what a customer wants, and they may prefer someone elses knitting. I wouldn't worry too much, just get knitting and have fun ;0

I feel like that pretty much everytime I make something, I think being a perfectionist at your craft is a positive thing though, means there is more striving to do even better next time. I also agree with silvermaid, I have also seen a lot of knitters (some on etsy) charge a lot for their crafted items only to see people who knit leisurely creating some lovely and unique pieces. I wouldnt let it get to you at all, I havent seen any of your knitting as I am new to the forum but from what others on the thread have said, you have no need to worry :-)

I wouldn'worry too much, I saw some very expensive scarves (£50+) at a show knitted by some well renowned knitters and was amazed at how uneven the stitching was. Not to say that there aren't others that do imaculate knitting but there is room for us all.
I am not a very even knitter but one trick I have found is once finished I pull the whole thing lengthways and width ways a few times and it seems to even it out a bit better

All the time. Which is why I have yet to make anything that could be called stock, nor have I organised a selling space.

But I went to a craft fair last week and was amused to find lots of things made inexactly the same 'slipshod' manner my own is. So I may just have to get over myself

All the time, especially after my first few fairs, but *big hugs* your work is lovely, and deep down I know my stuff is ok too.
