  • Next is Guy Fawkes!

Well thats Halloween behind us next comes Guy Fawkes. They have been setting fireworks off up my way for weeks!!!

What are you all doing? I am going to the annual firework display in Glasgow Green on Monday (Jules you'll know what that's like). It is fantastic.

I don't really like the idea of buying fireworks in shops because they are an explosive after all (doh!!) and any idiot can buy them - I mean it would you let someone walk out of Asda with a loaded gun!!! then why let them buy fireworks.

    Cheers.

I used to work in a shop that sold them.
I hated it as we had to make a split decision as to someones age before selling to them.

Did you see the news footage of some bumhole throwing a lit big firework into a newsagents!!

I saw it on GMTV this morning - what an idiot, did you hear that there were 500 explosives in that thing - luckily only 200 worked - their baby had to get taken to hospital for smoke inhilation - why don't people think?

      Cheers.

I was really surprised when I popped into my local Morrisons last week and they had a special stand selling fireworks. It was surrounded by loads of teenagers..I wonder how many of them were able to buy them?? I don't agree with fireworks being sold in shops. If you want fireworks go to a professional display. That's my opinion anyway!!

There should be firework only shops and only people with solid proof of being over 18 should be allowed into the building!!
Sadly there are plenty of over 18's that shouldnt be allowed out, let alone buy fireworks.

I love fireworks, but I agree that there should be tighter controls over who can buy and sell them!

I'm not sure what i'll be doing yet, but as long as there's plenty of hot dogs and onions i'll be a happy girl!

It was like a war zone at 10 o'clock last night here. Went to Asda this morning and they have a massive big stand selling these blasted things.

Live in an estate with gardens the size of postage stamps and someone at they back of us lets of fireworks every year. Last year the rocket bouned off our dining room window. Just about had a heart attack and my husband turned into a VERY angry man....outside screaming into the darkness.

Doesn't help the dog needs sedated and by the end of this so will I .

I love fireworks but would never be brave enough to have any myself, anyway I have too much lifestock and am surrounded by farms and horses.
Went to a friends party at the weekend and a rocket fell over and headed straight towards where we were standing with lots of kids. No one was hurt, but definatly think organised displays are best!

Might go for a drive with the girls after tea on Sat night as there is a place just near where we live where you can see over the whole of Burnley and Pendle Hill so we should be able to see lots of fireworks from up there!

When the kids were smaller we used to have a Bonfire Party at our home. We'd invite family and friends, everyone would bring a box of fireworks and a few sparklers.

Hubby George and his dad would take care of the firework display. His mum would supervise the kids. I'd be in the kitchen doing baked potatoes with chilli mince, baked beans, burgers and hotdogs for everyone.

One year we must've had nearly 100 people turn up. Lucky we have a good sized garden! Now the kids are teens they've grown out of it so no more Bonfire parties

We now go to the display in the town. It's run by the local Rotary Club so it's all for a good cause.
