  • A picture of where we stayed last week in Scotland

Just wanted to share with you all a lovely pic of where Dad and I stayed last week. This cottage is in Tomich in the Highlands, just 15 minutes drive from Loch Ness. I used to live opposite this cottage and I used to look after it for the owners. I'd give my right arm to be able to move back!

The Rock Ness music festival is on in a couple of weeks - didnt realise until my friends suggested going to Lochness for a break - maybe next year now stay for a week - do the festival and then take it easy for a few days taking in the scenery - It really is a beautiful place from what I hear- It would be a shame to go all that way(i live in the Midlands) to the festival and not have time to sample the real Highlands

Definitely. You need at least a couple of weeks and a car to even get a taste of what's there. I lived there for 7 years and there's still stuff I didn't get to.

It's beautiful! Looks like the area would be cool-ish, and smell of pines? Probably pretty quiet but maybe lots of bird song.

Gosh it looks like something out of a Thomas Kincaide (sp) painting. I'll bet it's done up very prettily inside! Does it have a big fireplace in the kitchen? Yes, I could really enjoy staying in this cottage! Lucky you!!

I don't remember a particular smell of pines, although there are a lot of pine trees around. The air is very clean though, and so fresh. The village is certainly very quiet except for lots of birdsong. If you want to see the inside of the cottage look here: http://www.cottages-and-castles.co.u...e&secondsite=4

You can even do a virtual tour of the place.

How idylic. Everyones idea of a cottage with roses round the door I would imagine.
