  • Sympathy needed

Last week I fractured the little toe on my right foot. It swelled up and turned a lovely shade of purple and black.

This morning, I banged it against a wooden box we have on the floor.

Now it really hurts and is throbbing away....

Ooooooh I bet that hurt.Ive seriously banged my toe before and I know how muc it hurts...actually, thinking about it I dropped a plate on my toe and the edge of the plate hit the toenail, it bled loads and took 2 years for a new nail to grow in!!

You have lots of sympathy from me.

Ow god stubbing your toe when it's not broken is painful enough - I can only imagine how you feel.

Now I work in a hospital so I prescribe a good bottle of wine and a bar of chocolate sitting with your feet up will work wonders - Maybe not take the pain away but after the wine you'll feel a whole lot better.

Hope the toe is better soon.

ooooh - my little pinkie sympathises with your little pinkie!

It's amazing isn't it - it's the smallest bloomin' thing on my entire body and it's caused me so much grief this last week! I don't suppose it helps that my chosen profession is sewing that means I have to use a pedal with the very foot that's bad!!

Thanks for all your words of sympathy and hugs.

I haven't opened the wine just yet as I do still have some orders to make, but I have shoved a couple of jaffa cakes in my mouth.....

Currently have a really thick pair of fluffy socks on and my mock-crocks to defend against future bangs!

OUCH!!! You poor thing!!! Mine are just throbbing in sympathy!!

I had a really bad ingrowing big toe nail a few years back which has become infected and was agony, and I managed to drop the hoover right on it and the whole thing literally exploded with blood and nasty gunk everywhere, I nearly went through the roof it was soooo painful so can totally sympathise with you a your poor little broken pinkie!!

....Jaffa Cakes .... YUM.... they should be on a free prescription me thinks!!

Jaffa Cakes (a whole packet) can be used in many urgent medical cases.

This, it appears, is just one of them.

The situations in which to administer jaffa cakes are not easily recognised, and the thought 'better safe than sorry' is one which can be applied in agony toe situations.

I ate them by the packet when pregnant first time. I was fully expecting at least a 10 pound baby due to the 3.5 stone I put on. But no, he was 6.1 and the rest was pure chocolate

                    heheheheh!!

Aah yes, the consumption of one packet of Jaffa Cakes does have side effects though. It can lead to the male partner of the victim exclaiming "bloody hell, when did you eat all those?!"

They are also best eaten by nibbling the sponge bit away, then carefully removing the chocolate until you are left with the "smashing orangey bit" to waggle about on your tongue to any passers-by who may be watching. Or is that just me?

                            Ahhhh! You too!!

Samuel used to demand 'cat pis' at tea time (he was not quite 2 bless). We wondered what the hell he was on about until we realised he meant jaffa cakes..... He still does sponerisms and words all mixed up.......

Can one ask how you broke the pinkie in the first place (was it too much of the sort of 'medicines' you were being advised about in an earlier post...)
