I've just made myself a wish list of all the things I'd really like to get from the Stampin' Catalogue and when I totalled it up it came to £441.30! Yikes! I'll have to sell an awful lot to get that. Hmm I can see I'm going to be spending more than I'm earning here, oh well nothing new there then!

Just spread it over a few months - you be fine! Well it seems cheaper that way or is that just me justifying lots of 'small' spends that all add up?

I'm good at doing that, just spend a few £s here & there, but boy does it add quickly, a bit like my list!

Lol, Im glad Im not the only one who does things like that!

I guess for you though it is an investment - if someone sees something nice you have used from the catalogue then they might want to buy it too! That sounds like a good excuse doesnt it?!

Do you HAVE to use only stampin up stuff on your demo cards or is that just a recommendation to help you sell more? I was just wondering, becaue things like ribbon are probably cheaper from somewhere else, to help you whittle down your list!

It is amazing if you shop around how much you can save.
Failing that draw up a priority list of things you must have and then things you would like

All craft items are tempting aren't they and I am sure we all would love to spend loads, but restraint is called for!!!! I often rush to buy something I MUST have now and then realise I could have waited a while for it. Nice though getting new things - actually if I stuck to what materials etc I have in stock I could probably make enough cards to last a few years, but there is always something tempting on the horizon.

Nice to know it's not just me! Saying that I know crafters are terrible for buying, we all like to be surrounded by our crafting goodies and just like Ifor says, I could not buy another thing and still make cards for years probably, I've got so much stash - but that ain't gonna happen!

You're right there though Claire, it is an investment, I need to have SU goods to demonstrate them, so in the early days anything I earn will be ploughed back into the business, but I get a load of gorgeous stuff out of it, so I'm not complaining

I should really use all SU stuff on my demo cards, but to be honest there are some things that aren't, adhesives & 3d pads for a start - no-one's going to see those after all, plus I've got a stash of brads that are very similar to SU ones and so I'll use those up too. If seasoned crafters are buying from me, they'll already have those sort of things, and like you say, probably cheaper too, so I don't expect they'll buy SU ones, the main sales are going to be the stamps. If someone is just starting and wants to re-create something I've done in the workshop, then they may buy some of the accessories to get them going.

Ah well, back to drool over the catalogue
