  • OH's Opinions

My OH, Steve, has just looked over my shoulder whilst I was on here and noticed I have the title 'Moderate Crafter' to which he exploded into laughter. I did try and explain it's more to do with the number of posts I've made, but he thinks it's hilarious as he says my crafting is more like an OCD!

Do others have OH's with similar opinions?

Not a problem for me - if I'm not on the forum, he is.

As far as crafting is concerned - if anyone had told him 5 years ago that he would be selling jewellery for a living he would have laughed. If they'd told him he would be making it himself ???????

My OH is a total tech-head, but would probably agree with yours if he ever bothered to look at this place

What does your OH think of your creations? Mine (invariably) thinks everything is great, but I'm convinced he's not unbiased!

I don;t have that problem, ditched my OH years ago!!!!

I did think it funny when I had "junior crafter" under my name!! Ive not been a junior for years.

Think I have progressed to the title "old nag" now and a pink one at that!!!!!!

oh no look I'm a senior! have to confess to a few of those moments!!!

Before we met last year, he'd never been a to craft fair so I've introduced him to the concept. The first one we went to he went around exclaiming about the prices and saying how you could buy cheaper at Wilko's! I've worked hard to educate him (!) and he now is a little more understanding. He doesn't know how I have the patience for beading as I'm soo impatient about everything else but now he understands the process more, is actually getting quite complimentary about my pieces. As I'm preparing for craft shows, he's also getting very interested in the prices I'm planning to charge for them! lol

And I've just noticed, since I posted this thread, I've become 'so much more than a moderate crafter' -yippeee!!!

Pretty much the same as Pagan really.

He thought it was just sticking things onto card, he took a little more notice when people started buying them though

I reckon I'm lucky too, my hubby seems to have more confidence in me selling my cards and dolls house rooms than me. And like Madlycreating said he says everything's lovely too, mind you he's also said he WOuld say if something wasn't right, I'd much prefer that than go to a craft fair and hearing someone say they were bad!

I'd have to agree that I'm one of the lucky ones, as my hubby is a fellow crafter... he is the candle half of the website.

Although he isn't a member of the forum, I have often found him on here having a nosey round and taking note of peoples comments so I'd definitely say that we are very likeminded and he understands how addictive crafting is

                      cards by design

My OH is very supportive and is quite constructive where my cards are concerned. He also knits a few things for me and suggests ideas for my cards. He has to be good to me as he is a writer and i am his critic lol. I am always honest with him so he knows he has to be the same with me or i might just rubbish his writing lol, that would send him as daft as me.

My OH thinks all of my hobbies are nuts (dancing, crafting, reading). He thinks I'm obsessed with all those things, spending several evenings a week out dancing, and when I'm in I spend them on the laptop or reading. Crafting tends to be intensive when it happens (ie this weekend I was pretty much snowed in, so spent 2 days non-stop jewellery making.

I think he's more concerned about the amount I spend on books and crafts, plus how much clutter it creates.
