  • Which is better myspace or facebook?????

and no I can't do a Harry Hill FIIIGHT impression
I have started a myspace page as I got an invite so don't really know if its going to be any good. Besides all the time I spend on here, twitter etc etc I will soon have no time to craft

Anyone else on myspace? Is it good? Bad? or rubbish?
    Wanna be my friend?
Just busy creating a profile so it's no great shakes yet.

Like you got an invite from Handmade, am on Facebook as well, I don't think any form of advertising is bad. I will just go with the flow.

I know what you mean about not having any time left for crafting (or in my case coding) - generally the reason you bother having these profiles anyway!

I prefer Facebook. I'm not sure why. I think the way it is laid out and coloured hurts my eyes a bit less. However, my brother (who is heavily into the music scene) insists that MySpace is an essential 'social marketing' tool.

There are billions of sites out there! I normally avoid MySpace, but decided to list Handmade Crafts there after being nagged a few times - all the real action takes place on facebook though!

I had a look at Myspace and wasn't really that impressed..................I suppose it could be a case of going with what you're used to - Facebook!

I always tend to think of myspace as a knocking shop! It seems to have a much younger audience who are only after one thing!
Facebook seems genuine in terms of mates getting together.
            Just my opinion though!

hhhhhmmmmmmm....just off to set up a myspace account!

Think of myspace as American and facebook as world. I love facebook and the only reason I am on myspace is because my best friend from high school refuses to use facebook.

That's how I've always felt about 'em. Not sure why - but something about MySpace just.. feels.. very.. American!

I use and like Facebook, never got into the MySpace zone really, probably because I'm too old.

Myspace used to be more popular with me, but now i use facebook a lot more. Although Myspace has been great to listen to new music acts, facebook even has that covered now too. Overall facebook has so many more advantages.
One of them is the ability to make groups. I've made a group on facebook to display some of my artwork, it would be great if any of the facebook members here on the forum could join it, and spread word of my work

This is the group: (hope it works)

Which is better for promotion - a group or a page?

(only just finding my way around Facebook - don't think I could cope with Myspace as well)

I think they're sort of equivalent, but it depends what you want to achieve! Groups (by name at least) promote discussion a bit more, whereas a Page is more for showing off or creating your own "area" for a business or personality!

                          You could always do both.

Personally I like pages for businesses and groups for concepts though groups seem more easy to access then pages.

I agree debs, groups do seem to be more accessible than pages, personally i didnt know pages existed until recently.
With groups, ive noticed that you have a lot more control than with a page too. A friend of mine has a page to promote their music, however after receiving some 'disrespectful' comments, could not remove that person from being a member of the page.

Good call though Matt, Although my group seems to be doing well, I think once pages pick up a bit, i might create one, and have both. Although it would mean twice the work in updating them!

If anyone can post anymore advantages of pages, i would be interetsed to hear them
