A close friend of mine has just had a baby girl!
It's her first child and I would like to get her something a little different. My friend is from a large family so baby Sarah (1st grandchild) is going to be spoilt rotten. Any ideas?
Anyone on here do cute baby things I can have a look at?

Can you not personalise a Photo Album for her 'for baby's first year' and make a pocket for keepsakes etc. or maybe a keepsake box with compartments for baby's first lock of hair, first tooth etc., its lovely to have something different and that you can keep

Between hubby and I we can do new baby decorated candles, bookatrix keepsake cards or crochet blankets.

When my sisters had thier babies I used to buy a variety of different things and place them all in a big laundry basket. There would be baby wipes and nappies at the bottom, with towels and facecloths over the top because they were prettier. I would then place the fun things on the top arranged nicely, bibs, candles, money box, photo album, washing stuff, rattles, babygros etc. I wrapped it in cellophane and tied a big bow around it. They loved it and several friends have asked for them too. The good things is they can cost as much or as little as you like, just vary the size of the basket and what you put inside.

Thank you, there are some fab ideas on here. I must add - should have said in the first place - that she moved back to Dublin recently so although I love the hamper idea for instance I need something postable.

some friends of mine had a baby last year and since i couldn't think what to do (knowing not a lot about baby things) I took a plain white photo frame and decorated it up with the baby's name and lots of cute baby card crafty things, little feet, bibs, dummys etc so they had a personalised frame to put some baby pictures in etc
