  • kids crafts help

I have volunteered to help out at my local library and I have been put in charge of running a couple of craft sessions for 5-11 year olds in half term. We were thinking of making it hallowe'en/bonfire night themed and I have a few ideas....masks, pop up out of a box goblins n ghouls...but has anyone got any ideas?

What about paper cutting - doing a string of ghosts from folded paper, so when you open it out they are all holding hands?!

I know this is not really a Halloween thing, but how about pom poms? Pretty easy, and you can use scraps of wool.

You can make creepy spiders with black pompoms, pipecleaners, googley eyes and elastic, also have seen somewhere pumpkin faces made out of mosaic pieces (square pieces of black and orange card).
Popup goblins sound my favourite idea (will google and have a go making with my daughter)

            I have this book....http://www.buy.com/prod/pop-ups/q/loc/106/30977117.html

...and was going to adapt the springy thing in a box idea on the front. (to help you with your hunt for pop up goblins)

Don't know how messy you can be but cut a circle of black paper put it inside a round biscuit tin, squirt some white paint onto the black paper. Place a bouncy ball inside the tin and then roll it around. Hopefully it will come out looking like a spiders web. Then make a pompom spider with googly eyes, pipe cleaner legs and glue onto the spiders web.

This website has some excellent ideas and supplies for Halloween www.baker-ross.co.uk

There is a pompom spider free halloween project on a site i look after, coats crafts uk - just click on crafts, then halloween and there's a few free projects. The pompom spider is fun and easy to make, it's sure to appeal to the age group your looking after.

I thought that said 'Breast' in a box - didnt think that would be appropriate for kids - even if it is halloween !
