Yea, i just saw it on the news.
    Made me cry.
I grew up watching Smart. He was a great artist, aswell a good comedian.

My wishes go out to his family and friends if they read this forum.

It is very sad... a truely broken heart I guess.

My ds used to love watching Smarteenies. He always chose the big picture as his favourite.

Oh that is so sad. Such a waste. We were only talking about him the other day and the fact he had gone missing. It's very sad but kind of not surprising :0(

          What a shame

Oh what a shame! With having a son myself I am feeling from the heart for his mother. How awful, he must have really loved her. Suexx

He's certainly been an inspiration to me over the years. Can't believe he was on the tv for 14 years. He just never seemed to get any older.

It is a sad tragedy. I was looking for some birthday cards when I came across an autograph album last night that has his signature in... seems odd now that he's died. I loved Smart.

                      Wasted....

....very sad, two young lives gone like that. So good looking, both of them too.

Our children loved Smart too when they were younger.

I hope the media feel guilty (but, of course, they won't) I'm sure that the nasty villifying journalists had a lot to do with his suicide. Pity they can't be made to face the consequences of their reporting.

It is really sad. My Hubby said his lifestyle ultimately was responsible for his death ( ie fiancee wouldn`t have died from an overdose if hadn`t been drug users) but it`s awful to think he was so sad that he just wanted to go and die quietly somewhere on his own. I can`t bear anyone feeling like that.

I don`t think you ever get over the death of someone close but in time it does ease and you see things differently. It`s sad to think that if he`d have just held out a few more months he might have chosen to not to have taken his own life and begun to rebuild his life.

Definitely a tragic story for two such young lives.
My thoughts and best wishes to the families of each,

                              Si.
