  • How Bizarre???

I'm quite confused, I've been sent an email from flickr saying 'We've changed the safety level of your photostream to "restricted".' Apparently another member has complained for some reason!! My photo's are just of my jewellery, so it can't be that. I've emailed flickr to find out what I've done wrong, just waiting for a reply.

Has anyone else had this problem, or is it just me?

You are advertising them for sale which is against flicker rules.

Oh, I see. I put those photos up a couple of months ago, so I don't even look at them now, and I didn't know that was against the rules at the time.. naive, I know.
I've deleted all the descriptions now.

      Thanks for letting me know.

Its confusing when you're new to things like Flickr and Forums etc, what exactly is the "done" thing and what shouldnt be done

I'm pretty new to Flickr myself but I seem to remember reading (here and there) that they dont like you putting your website or blogsite details on the photo itself although its OK to put it in your profile and to post it onto any Forum Flickr discussion threads?

Whereas I think on Craftjuice, its OK to put your web/blog details on your entry so people can find you if they want to (hope I have that right?!)

First thing I do when I join a new site is go to the rules page or FAQ.

Good point Goldy. Used to make a point of doing just that but I've joined up and subscribed to so many things recently that I've become a bit lazy! Perhaps Muddle's experience is a lesson to us all to read the small print first!

I'm silly really, cause I copied and pasted the information from my website, without really thinking about what I was putting on there and without it occurring to me that I was advertising them for sale, then I just forgot about it

I guess that was the reason they got restricted, I haven't been told but they have told me they've changed it back now.
I wont be doing that again, its made me think more about what I'm putting where.

Thats why I was so wary of joining that selling site everyone was on about the otherday not enough info.

Well now I'm really confused.... the safety level on my Flickr account has been made 'restricted' AGAIN!!!
I'm sure I'm not doing anything wrong, I read all the guidelines etc.

I've emailed Flickr but no one will reply.
If I'm not told what I'm doing wrong how can I change it?

Somebody must keep complaining about me, are they just out to get me?

Bet you're miffed. I tried to help by having a look at your pictures to see what they could possibly be unhappy about but, DOH, I cant see them of course - theyre greyed out

Had a look at your profile, could there be anything in there they dont like? Is it too "businessy?"

Grasping at straws, you just need Flickr to respond really, sorry not much help but hope its sorted soon

I've just had a look too.
The first page that came up was that the page was out of my "Safe Zone".

I clicked on anyway and got to your main jewellery page.

I viewed your profile. You do have your web site address on there though. Maybe that could be it?

At the top of the page there was a button and it said "take me back to the kittens"!!!

It's almost like this page was flagged pornographic which of course it isn't!

Good luck with the feedback from them though.

                      Av xx

Thank you both for looking for me.

In the profile part it asks you what your website is, so I put it in.

As for this 'kittens' thing, I haven't got a clue what that is about, I can't see that.

The thing is I don't really use it, people have been adding me as contacts, but I haven't put any new photos up for months.

I might just cancel my account, I can't be bothered with it all.
