  • What a nightmare journey home..

    Hi everyone,
I am was in Peterborough again yesterday doing a live show on Ideal World anyway we live in Newcastle so that drive home is about 3 1/2 hours..normally but with the high winds etc a big section of the A1 was closed with a lorry being blown over and we had to travel a rather different route. We ended up being on the road home 6 1/2 hours! It was a nightmare But my OH was a total star and tried to keep positive whilst I was ranting about the weather, peoples driving etc (I was a bit stressed!! )
I still feel stressed out by it this morning!

      You poor thing!!

      Well done Hubby!!

I am so glad that we now live round the corner from my parents. we've had some real hair raising moments travelling up from London to Yorkshire in the deepest darkest winter. there was one year where Ollie was only three weeks old and I was so determind that we were going to Yorkshire on Christmas eve that we set off in a blizzard. You couldn't see the car in front only the red lights. we drove at about 10 MPH! it took until 7 the next day to get there. We had to put neat anti freeze into the window washers.
DH still hasn't forgiven me and Ollie is 14 now!
full time mum and very very part time crafter.

Pah! Yesterday's 3.15 pm flight was cancelled, moved onto the 5pm flight.

        Which took off at 6.40.

So having left work at 1.10 to get home, I got in at 8.30!!!

Flying is so much easier than any other transport method
It's never too late to gyrate!

It was actually a live show yesterday at 11am I was on with Dean who is a total nutter! He had us all in stitches trying to cut acetate with a punch and it got totally stuck in it.
It went OK though and I was the least nervous of all the shows I've done so far which made it easier!

The journey sounds horrible and I can see why you still felt stressed next morning ... hopefully you have chilled by now though (couple of glasses of wine always help!)

p.s. sounds like you are doing brilliant Anice - good on you !

              .
