New laptop, cheapy, so no instructions - good old pc world. Figured it out though. It has Vista home premium on it. Ha! I know more about 'system restore' than pc world do. I finally - after a lot of trial and error - found out it doesn't a. like IE7 pro, and b. like my scanner. Either one would have killed it, it didn't need to take two. So I start looking online for a new scanner, and, guess what? Pc world have an all in one printer/scanner/copier/tractor/aeroplane for about the same price as a new scanner..................so, to recap, I bought the laptop to save space, I now have a perfectly good pc and monitor and photo printer and scanner and keyboard...............to find space to put into. I'm so glad I decided to downsize.
Oh.................and I'm now using firefox.

I done the same - got a lappy and an all in one so i could spend all day on the computer as my desktop was stuck in my bedroom.

I hate Firefox my son uses it on his PC and I crash it all the time!!!

Right..............that's Firefox binned - far too slow. I'll stick with IE7. The next browser will involve a very sharp axe.

Ah ha, discussion on the pros and cons of firefox vs internet explorer, I use them both, depending on what websites I am looking at. Firefox is (apparently) more secure than IE7 so I use that for my banking etc, however, some websites don't load properly in firefox so I use IE7.

Plus Internet explorer has now stolen (correct me if I am wrong) some features from firefox like tabbed browsing etc.

My house has 3 computers and my laptop when I have to 'work from home' the boyfy is a bit of a geek and loves his technology, one computer to sit in the corner, one computer to play games on and one 'media' PC to play movies on......... plus enough parts to build another 7, when he gets annoyed at the amount of beads I have, I go and point at all the computers!

IE7 doesn't have the same array of keyboard shortcuts that Firefox does.

Firefox has an RSS reader as standard, which I'm not sure IE has.

IE7 is buggy, MS rubbish.

There is a plugin for Firefox so that you can use IE for some pages and just flick between the two from within Firefox by clicking on a logo. So things that only open in IE (e.g. Windowsupdate.com) will run fine in Firefox - it's called "IE Tab"

I've been running them side by side, and Firefox is coming out best for user friendliness. I've found IEtab - but how is it with Vista Home Prem?
