  • Christmas cakes and wedding rings!

Yesterday I spent the morning round at mums making the christmas cakes.... note the "s". We make 7 cakes at once. We have lots of people that ask us to do it every year so we do it all in one go and mix the mixture up in a huge jam pan. To start with it isn't too bad, but by the time all the fruit is in there too it's very very heavy to mix. Yesterday I desided to dive in with my hands. It seemed alot easier and in next to no time the seven huge cake tins were filled up, wrapped with newspaper and lined up ready to go into the oven in shifts. it was at this point I realised that my wedding ring was no longer on my finger!!!

Cake by cake (uncooked still) we disected until cake number 6 where we found my ring hiding among the fruity bits.

My dad has just popped round with a bun made from the same mixture and I am about to have it with a coffee..... yummy!

You are always so busy - how do you fit it all in - lucky you found the ring before you baked them all or you would have just had to eat your way through the 7 of them - not such a bad thought right enough!!!!

I should really learn to bake - I can cook fine but baking - I don't know I could burn water some times.

      Cheers.

I don't! There is huge pile of ironing and folding threatening to take over the room. The floors haven't been swept and I have so many things on my to do list!
