  • what a rubbish nights sleep...

Does anyone else get this - every now and again I seem to spend most of the night awake for no obvious reason... inspite of the fact I'd love to drift off.. then when i do it only takes the tiniest noise for me to be awake again!?! Its very frustrating and I will no doubt start to flag badly as the day goes on.

Oh well, next time I just might get up and count beads instead

((hugs)) hun, not me! I sleep like a log!

Usual wake up call this morning as Em came running into the bedroom shouting "time to wake up Mummy". Does she not realise its Sunday! ... Just checking my emails then I'm off to watch Hi5 & dd dance around the living room

Thanks ! We have a human alarm clock who wakes us all up too (if he sleeps past 6 its like christmas!) and glad I dont have to watch Hi5 anymore... it drives me bonkers with all those smiley/happy/bouncy people - thank goodness my little lad has moved on from that (and those annoying doodlebop things) so now we just have star wars on all the time instead

I sleep like a log too.... I could sleep on a tightrope!!

I'm really lucky that DS doesn't usually wake up until about 8:00, mind you, he doesn't go to sleep until about 9:30 (his bedtime is 8:00 and he sits in his bed "reading" and singing)

If I ever get those rare nights where my mind is buzzing, I do things like "list all of the star-signs" or "what are all the shops in the high street" stupid stuff like that just to try and get my brain to shut up!

I'm with you Mel I sometimes have terrible nights sleep.. last night wasn't too bad..but not great. It's usually worse when I have something on my mind..and lately I have more than one thing!
As I work from home, I'm lucky because if I have had a bad night I can get some sleep to catch up in the afternoon, when I never seem to have any problems sleeping!! Why is that???

lili i have a night like that at least twice a week and the rest of the time is not much better OH works odd hours and usually comes home between 2 - 3 am so i usually get wakened by him (not his fault i'm a light sleeper) so i have learned to manage on 4-5 good hours sleep, which is not good as i work full time as well
            while i knit i think

I find that having a baby wriggling and kicking you for a few hours is the best thing to get a good night's sleep.

                Oh, wait, I'll rephrase that.

I sleep badly too, tho its better than it used to be.
I think ive had 1 decent nights sleep this year.

I usually wake up around 6am and touch the radioator thats next to the bed, if its on then its around 6.30am and I know I have half an hour to go.

This morning I woke up thinking ahhhhh a bit of a lie in( I didnt check the radiator),then almost immediately the alarm went off and it was clearly 7am, I wasnt happy.

I also spend a fortune of Touce Eclait.

Oh I've just realised, I might sleep so well because generally I have a whole king-size bed to myself (married to a shift worker who tends to sleep in the spare room a lot because of his anti-social hours)

Plus I suffer from ME/CFS which might have something to do with it!!

It must be something to do with having a creative brain that keeps you all up at night
