  • I am SO Tired..

    ........

The usual cyclical crud. I feel totally drained. I've get shedloads of sewing to do, and I'm either too tired or the day just disappears and is gone before I know it.

I can't sew this week, because I know I will make a huge mess of everything. Ditto baking. And spoken conversation.

I'm not even sure I'm fit company this week...and it's Tuesday, which means the weekend will be here in about 5 minutes, closely followed by a visit from my Mum next Thursday and the Spring Craft Fair the weekend after......oh buggeration!

I don't need time to fly, but then again, I do need time to fly, because next week I'll be human again (yes, ok, that's debateable) and I can crack on with everything!

Where shall I put this soapbox? Anyone else want it?

I know what you mean. I have only been back at work for just over a week and I've had it! I think I have just had too much on recently, ever weekend for the last two months has been booked up. To top it off I have a parents evening tonight. Oh well, roll on Friday!!!

      Snuggle up in bed....

Go on, i give you permission, you will get sooo much guilty pleasure out of it....

Just think, snuggled down in your nice thick duvet, bed socks on, Country Living magazine at your side, cats at your feet....

About 3 years ago i worked night shifts and day shifts, i was permanently tired. Oh how i loved getting into bed in the middle of the day when everyone else was going to work....

          Thanks....

          ......sympathy cause, please give generously.

I would go back to bed. But my bed is now covered in cats, who do the duvet dayshift. If you dare to even perch on the edge of the bed, the nasty vibes from their dirty looks will do seriously mindbending damage.

I'm contemplating doing some simple (oh ha ha) machine embroidery.....I've made 12 aprons from powder blue polka dot cotton duck. Each one has a co-ordinating Cath Kidston fabric, or shabby chic fabric, pocket. I can't do my usual felt applique on the apron bibs, because it's just too much with the polka dots. So I'm making little plain white labels, which go on with bondaweb, and look like they are hanging from the corner....

Sounds simple. Now watch me make the world's biggest hash of it all....

          More coffee is called for...

You will have to post them when you are done with them. Lots of sympathy coming from me - if it all gets too much then have a sit on the sofa with your book. Half an hour can do wonders!

I just tell the cats to budge up - they get used to it! Only problem I have then is they pin me down in the bed and I can't get out again.

I must say I was really surprised when you replied to my email so late last night - get yourself an early night!

Hope you are feeling better soon

Never mind Jules you will feel human again in a day or two.

Take some pain killers, sit back with a hot water bottle on the offending body part and relax. It doesn't last forever just seems like it - who was it that said role on the menopause then!!!!!

                          Poor Anya....

.....I remember the horrible itching, even if it was 35 years ago!

When the daughter had chickenpox, we were out on a day trip. She was just 2, and when I changed her I noticed 5 spots on her back. The Spoilt Cousins had just had the pox, so I knew instantly that Philippa had them. Two hours later we were home, and there wasn't a square cm of her that didn't have a blistery spot on it....by eck she was bad. AND she's allegric to calamine. Someone recommended Eurax lotion, and she loved the stuff! She used to beg me to put it on her pox every 5 minutes....poor mite was so itchy.

Poor Anya....has Tara got spots or had spots yet? At least they'll get it over and done with - not that that's a consolation!

Tara had it while we were in France and I'm quite glad that Anya has caught it too - much rather them have it when they are young. Matt's dad had it at the same time as Matt and he was really bad.
How are your aprons going Jules?

                              Aprons

                              ...getting there, slowly.

I did manage the machine embroidery without making a complete bodge of it. I'm now sat (wrapped in my furry throw) doing the buttons & running stitch around the edge. The only thing about being all cosy is dropping off. I was so warm and snug earlier I fell asleep. Painkillers had kicked in when I woke up, so I felt better. This is just the apron top, it's not got a pocket yet so no point photographing all of it. I'm pleased with my little word logo!
