              Ooooh - Happy December!

I love Christmas and will be digging out the Christmas CDs (much to the annoyance of my hubby!) Its a Wonderful Life and Muppets Christmas Carol are my Crimbo films of choice - could watch them every day!

I have been making Christmas designs for a couple of months now so I feel like it has been Christmas for a while but it will be great to get the music and films on to get me in the mood for putting the tree & decorations up in a week or so (have to find a time when hubby can give me a hand!)

We are going Christmas shopping next week which always makes me feel very festive - I love it when the shops have all their decorations up, everyone just seems so much happier!

I just wish the actual Christmas part lasted longer - it always goes so quickly.

My husband LOVES IAWL...I loved it years ago but after a few Christmases, I got tired of it. My family loves Muppet CC too...but I have a fave I bet no one has ever heard of - La Pastorela with Linda Ronstadt as the angel Michael...it's full of Latino big names, and it's a play...when my kids were little I took them to east Austin one night, to a warehouse...to see it performed...VERY low budget but full of heart, and free cocoa afterwardws...and we never had so much fun!

I love A Christmas Carol with George C. Scott. Also Miracle on...what is it...34th Street? Whatever. Natalie Wood was the little girl, Susie...

We used to all be sad that we worked so hard for one night and one day, so we changed it so that Christmas Eve opens the season. We do some special thing every day through Three Kings Day (Epiphany), including making crafty Christmassy things and baking cookies (chocolate crinkles and pecan sandies) for Dad to take to work...

I also used to drag the kids to a Christmas Revels put on (small time) in Austin...and I have some Revels CDs.

I would read to the kids the Christmas parts from various books - Children of Noisy Village was a favorite.

                        Bah humbug!

Got to work this morning to find that my account has expired so I couldn't do ANYTHING all day! Sounds great - but looks awful to be sitting at my desk reading....

My MiL is just out of hospital so I've had to come all the way home instead of staying with them... I don't want to make her ill with this cold I've had for a week!

And I'm too ill for Taekwon do!

                        Bah humbug!
