Eww Diane! I can just picture them.

We to have a lot of flies this year, shoo one out of the window and then find another, hate them more than wasps. Barney (dog) just sits and looks at them cross eyed!

Get yourself a Bengal cat, he's ace at catching flies!! Did find him on the floor with a wasp the other day though but managed to get it off him before he got stung!! So no, we very rarely see a fly, just a spotted cat flying past!! Selina

ive had this before, someone advised me to get some very sticky tape and coat it in something sugary. Most of the flies ended up stuck to the tape. It was minging tho taking them down

Yes, we've got a load of flies, especially landing on the telly, there always seem to be about half a dozen just wandering blissfully unaware on there all the time! You can hear a snap of teeth every now and again when our welsh terrier tries to catch them, hehehe. What does drive me batty is when there's a big un in the bedroom at night and it comes right at your ear or nose...you never know where the blighter is!!

We've got loads of flies at the moment, we always do in the summer as living near Newmarket we've got a few stables/studs in our street and where there's horses there's horsepoo

Really? Molly is rubbish at catching flies, she leaps around after them but so very rarely gets them. Then again the look on her face the one time she did manage to catch one and eat it was priceless...I'm guessing flies don't taste too good

You didn't have to wallop yourself on the head did you?! Or you must have super speed hands like that scene in the Karate Kid with the chopsticks

Try to find this (below) locally - it's AWESOME. In my house, I thumb tack, well, push pin, it to the ceiling and let it hang about 2 feet down - out of the way...you don't want to get it in your hair!! I sometimes even tie it to a bolt or something to keep it hanging straightish.

It's a mess to deal with - wear food handler gloves (cheaper than rubber gloves) or use paper towels. It is incredibly effective!! Grossly effective - there will be so many flies caught on it! Sadly, in the barn we have also caught the occasional mosquito hawk, dragon fly, butterfly, and even a couple pf wrens...we got the birds loose easily enough, but I bet they were emotionally traumatized!

                          Mr. Sticky Fly Tape
Irresistible to flies. Attach tape to barn rafters. Safe for use in the home, too. It's nonpolluting, nontoxic, and amazingly effective. Traps 92% of available flies. It works especially well when mounted overhead. Once flies are trapped, they emit stress chemicals that attract other flies.
