  • A feeling of doom

Well, my last day at work is thursday and I have this horrid sick feeling that my future ex boss is going to con me out of money. This is my prediction.I just had to share it.I hope Im wrong but just had to say something, mainly just to suppress my vomit.
Even tho Im leaving he still seems to be nit picking at me for the smallest irrelevant of things.
Il let you know if anything happens.

Stick to your guns for what you're entitled to, and make sure you get EVERYTHING in writing. Anything he tells you, ask him to give you in writing, signed, before you leave that day. It's the only way to ever prove anything, and he'll be reluctant to commit anything dodgy to paper...
      Cheers,

Do you know how much you are entitled to?

If you've been there more than 2 years you get a weeks pay for every year (except the first 2).

You should get 3 months pay in lieu of notice plus pay for any holidays you haven't taken.

        This site may help

and this one tell you about the proceedures the company has to follow by law.

        Hope this helps

Fingers crossed that your prediction is wrong, some very good advice from Scorch and Alice21. Make sure you take it on board before Thursday.

Thanks one and all.Im feeling less negative at the moment, but there are still reasons for me to think he is going to have a chat with me.He will probably leave it to the last minute.
Im going to make a list of everything I want in writing so if I dont get them soon I can ask without stuttering, plus I wrote down the email of a nice lady that works there that i can at least email if I feel that info hasnt been given.

Just don't sign any kind of release paperwork until it has been properly checked over. Are you in a union? if not CAB can tell you your full entitlement. You know what they say, if you kick a stone up all the slugs crawl out. Sounds like you have a good one there.

I was thinking that. Hopefully that sense of fear you're getting is due to the awful experiences you had at your old place and your current boss will be far far more reasonable.

Keeping my fingers crossed that it won't be as bad as you fear...and if it is remember we've got the padded room now for you to vent away in

Haha, yes.But in my last job I didnt care if I lost the job because of how awful it was so I said what I liked and didnt care if I got fired(but I left of my own accord),whereas with this job Im gona miss the nice people I work with.
I said to my dad the other day I dont know why Im nervous of my boss, I should just say what I want as Ive already lost my job.

I got a card from my collegues which was nice, my boss said hello to me when I got there, then it was just a normal day. 5 minutes towards the end my boss calls me in, wishes me luck in the future, explains again why he is making me redundant,he said he is aware it must be uncomfortable(well, not for me I thought)but pop in every now and again, dont be a stranger, shook my hand then I was off.I got my collegues contact details so we can keep in touch.
I got paid but didnt get a pay slip.So Im going to email the accounts lady to ask for an ITEMISED pay slip to be posted to me to make sure i get what Im owed.
Then I get payed my holiday pay on payday at the end of August.

The worst thing is there was a nice delivery guy that turned up in the afternoon, I hadnt summoned up the courage enough to flirt outragously with him, now Il never see him again.
