  • Really Really irritated

    And needed somewhere to rant.

I'm supposed to be going to Download festival on wednesday, I was so excited about the line up, I bought my ticket right at the beginning of the year, within the first week of them going on sale.

Then last week, everyones tickets were arriving, I was still at uni but my um said shed keep an eye out, typically when the tickets arrived via special delivery, she wasnt available to sign for it so we got a calling card instead. Not a massive problem. So the next day she went to the post office place and the didnt have the ticket, they told her to come back on saturday. So she went on saturday, they still didnt have the ticket. Now we're onto today, she has gone back and they have pretty much lost the ticket, they are doing their best (cctv and all) but the festival starts on wednesday and I have no ticket, and worse still I was going with a friend and now she has no one to camp with!!

I have phoned ticketmaster and they cant do anything about it, they cant send a replacement and cant refund me till the post office verify it's lost which could take a week. Of course by then I will have missed the festival.

I could buy a ticket off ebay but then what do I do if mine turns up?? It's a lot of money. But if I hang around, there won't be any left on ebay for me to get.

So I am now beyond infuriated and I really feel like punching a brick wall.

    Rant Over.

How infuriating indeed, I would be climbing the walls too. I just hope that in some way the ticket turns up in time for you to go.

      aww what shame
my sons were ment to be going as well but now can't afford it (1st one my eldest has missed in years )
I know my friends son was worrying his ticket wouldn't get here on time as it was so late but it arrived yesterday.
It's terrible that the post office lost it , i'm sure you'll get your money back as it hasn't been signed for and tracking will show it was taken back to the p/o

Post office is so annoying! I had an underpaid item to collect - turned out to be a very long postcard which needed a large letter stamp, but had ordinary stamp. Had to pay the extra 17p and a £1 handling charge! I have no idea what you should do about the 'lost' ticket. It sounds worse than infuriating!

Well I've decided that by staying in I'm going to end up pulling my hair out so I am going to go out and have a few, well a lot, of drink

I'm glad you're going and having a drink or several. Much preferable to punching a brick wall. Your knuckles would hurt.

Oh no! That's terrible, hopefully they'll manage to sort it out for you in time, maybe you have a thieving postie, it happens occasionally

But when your post goes missing people please don't go into the Post Office and shout at the people on the counter because they have nothing to do with it, it is actually Royal Mail who have lost your post. Both are part of the Royal Mail Group but act as completely separate companies. (And yes for my sins, I did used to work in a Post Office).

I hope everything works out for you hun x

That is awful! It's especialy worse when it's not even your fault.
I remember last year I had tickets to V, but I moved house before they arrived. I went on the net and tried to change my address details but it kept coming up saying that I didn't have authorisation to change addresses on the system. Sat for weeks worrying if the tickets would arrive (they cost loads!), but eventually they did.

I really hope they turn up - make sure you keep ringing the sorting office to make sure they haven't found them, because they won't phone you to let you know.

                  Fingers crossed x

                    ooh no that's awful

I was meant to be going with my boyfriend this year, he's a total slipknot fan, but we just couldn't afford it this year..

I really hope something sorts out for you. Not so special delivery is it, royal mail really mess up sometimes

Yes I saw slipknot in december and can't/couldn't wait to see them.

Actually Idw I wouldn't normally blame the p/o people but apparently thats where it's gone missing! All the post is tracked through the various locations and the guy in charge has discovered that it entered my local p/o and the cctv doesn't show what happened after that and the woman who it was handed to 'doesn't know' what she did with it.

Someone may have a ticket for sale but of course this means I will be out of pocket until I get compensated.

There are a number of places where it could be right now but I feel, in the back of my mind, that it may be off to download tomorrow with someone

And the few drinks....Well the few turned into a lot and I ended up at a club. The club was meant to be good but I hated it in there. I don't much like clubs but this place was absolutely heaving and worse than any I've ever been to and I couldn't wait to get out.

Grrr I wanna go to download! its such a friendly festival (since leeds has been raken over by 'faux indie' fans!) The atmosphere is so good there!
I'm sure you can claim something back from royal mail as its their mix up. so buy a new ticket then seek compensation for the lost one, you have proof that you purchased it and its the royal mails fault its lost now.
I had a package from my friends in germany go missing! my dad reckons its because they've started getting a load of agency workers in nicking stuff because the official workers keep striking et al.
