  • Norfolkline Ferry from Dover - any good??

Well, blow me down with a feather, the O/h "announced" we are off to France for a week in June! The Tesco Clubcard Vouchers will pay for a lovely holiday cottage for a week..

The kids (dogs!) have all been provisionally farmed out to carers.. now I am doing the Ferry Routes!!

The cheapest by far for Car and 2 adults is Norfolk Line.. it takes 45 mins longer, but the distance from Calais and Dunquerque to the cottage is the same.. And given the propensity for French fishermen to blockade Calais.. Dunquerque might be a smart choice..

Has anyone used that route recently?? What are the ferries like??

Blurb says they don't take foot passengers, so less crowded (yeay!)..

Sorry, can't help - I get sea sick so fly and rent a car on the other side - all with points from wherever.

Sorry - don't know how good they are but hopefully fantastic because we're using them in August to go to France. They were so much cheaper than P&O. Hope you have a great time.

Well, given that it is 120 minutes of my life, I dont suppose it matters too much even if they are dire..

But £40 for a return trip compared to £240 with Eurotunnel, and £268 to go Harwich - Holland.. there wasn't much competition (P&O £75 Dover Calais too!)
