  • help - talk me out of it !!!

I have slowly been putting on weight , although I'm still 'fairly slim' I know I'm getting to that age ( mid forties ) that if I dont' stop it now it will be hard to lose so I'm cutting out sweet things during the week and just treating myself at the weekend, this is the best I've ever done ( nearly 4 weeks ) and it was getting easier but I'm not having a good week this week, it started Monday when I finished off a chocolate dessert that I'd made at the weekend ( chocolate is my weakness , I could quite easily eat a big bar of chocolate for breakfast, polish off a packet of jaffa cakes in one setting etc etc ) anyway I blame my son as it was his chocolate pudding I ate that he didn't want and with the credit crunch it would have been bad to waste it wouldn't it lol
but I convinced myself that it would be ok as I would use that as Fridays treat and just treat myself Saturday this week , you can see my logic ???
but last night was pancake day and I had some with chocolate ice cream and chocolate sauce oops
anyway today I am now craving chocolate , I still have 2 bars from valentines day which I haven't touched and am desperately trying not to as once they're open that will be it I will HAVE to eat the whole lot so I need your help to talk me out of eating them !!

Hi, I understand you problem but for me it was crisps!

I have just finished my first week of doing a low carb diet and I have lost 4lbs so far. I no longer crave anything and feel full and satisfied.

Here is the forum I am using for inspiration and to chart my progress.

Give it a go it works, or you could just put the chocolate in the bin at the bottom and pour old baked beans on them

              Don't dooooooooooo it.

Be good to yourself and learn to ignore the chocolate and the everyone else's waste.

Willpower is hard to find some days - so abolish chocolate from the house! It's not good for anyone else either......

Be cruel for a while...... it'll get easier...

the baked bean bit would work lol
I used to eat baked beans but when I was pregnant with my son I was quite ill after eating a lovely lunch of baked beans on toast and now I can't touch them , I hate everything about them, once we went on holiday and shared a caravan with some friends and their children, they all had baked beans for lunch and my friend spent the next half hour pushing all the baked beans that had been loose in the washing up bowl down the plug hole for me
now thats a true friend lol

I said to myself a while back, i dont want to be old and fat(I like to make it clear I have nothing against old or fat people)as I know weight is tough to shift at the best of times its even more difficult as you get older. So a couple of years ago I seriously cut down on my junk food intake and recently got a physical job instead of a desk job.Just an effort to make sure i dont put on any more weight.Ive lost a few pounds.

You are right not to put the weight on in the first place.
Ive tried not to eat the late night snacks like i used to and when I gave in and ate them I thought to myself afterwards, I didnt need or enjoy that.

Find a delicious alternative, maybe a strawberry yoghurt or nuts.

                    Good luck.
