  • what to have at ladies pamper night??

    hi all

i'm in the process of trying to organise a ladies pamper night to try and raise funds for a local online community radio station in Galashiels in the scottish borders.

what sort of things would you expect to see at a ladies pamper night??

    so far i have:

    myself (candles and smelly stuff)
    handmade jewellery
    handmade sweets
    virgin vie

any suggestions as to what else i can have??

    cheers
    vicky

Would you be able to get a massage therapist - for head and feet massages. It is lovely having one of these. I did an aromatherapy course a few years ago and we all practised on each other! It was heaven!
Oooh, and a card maker perhaps, or a crafter that makes small gifts, like trinket boxes?

We have one every year at my kids school, there's more emphasis on beauty treatments so we have facial people, manicure/pedicures, waxing, massage, reiki, healing, hair and makeup as well as virgin vie, jewellery, bags etc. Also the local fitness centre sends someone along to promote themselves and get people to join up with them, but they offer a free day at the gym to anyone who wants it and a free week's membership as a raffle prize. We always have a raffle too which makes us money as the prizes are all donated. We also sold fruit smoothies in previous years but they tend not to make any money due to the cost of ingredients. HTH

        Edited to add:

this year we're considering getting a tarot/palmist along too which is apparently popular at another local school's do.

          pamper evening

well, usually a person that does manicures, massage, sell the aloe vera stuff, maybe someone who makes chocolates. I have had a stall at a few, and where people go wrong is they don't take a disposit for the different treatments, so attendance can be low, Also try and include a free glass of wine in the price of a ticket. That brings them running! also gets you round needing a liquor license. Oh yes, and loads of publicity!! some have not publicised at all which is frustrating for stall holders.

          hope that helps

Oh yes, we charge for the tables (£15) and we charge for entry, this is £5 and includes a glass of wine and a goodie bag. We have sign up sheets for each treatment and they get pretty booked up in our experience. Depends where you are and your target audience. We make it women only and just advertise in the local paper, but most of our 'customers' are mums.

I love doing pamper evenings, the room always has a buzz to it while the women are waiting for their treatments, plus no men hurrying them along while they are browsing.

For therapists it's worth checking your local post office/newsagents windows they normally have flyers or business cards or a local avon rep maybe.

                hi all

wow, thanks for all the fab ideas.

Well I'm going to a local hotel tonight to see one of their function rooms so at least there will be a bar, am also going to see about everyone recieving a free glass of wine and or soft drink.

I think once I have a better idea of the dates and how many tables and people I can fit in, I will have a better idea of what I'm going to have.

Anyone know of anyone in the Scottish Borders or Edinburgh area that might be interested??

                Many thanks
                Vicky xx
